Aroma: It has a strong, warm aroma, with an intense combination of spicy, sweet, and bitter notes. This aroma comes from its high essential oil content, particularly eugenol.

Sikotok Cloves Variety

One of the basic types of cloves in Indonesia, has unique physical characteristics and qualities.

Color: Just like other good quality dried cloves, the color is dark reddish brown.

Appearance: Has a slightly shiny or oily appearance, which indicates high essential oil content and good quality.

Shape: Visually, the dried flower buds of Sikotok cloves are spike-shaped, but the specific characteristics of this variety are often more visible when still on the tree. The young leaves are light yellowish green before becoming dark green, and the leaf blades tend to be quite slender with rounded tips

Aroma: Has a strong and distinctive aroma, like high quality cloves in general.

The Siputih variety of dried cloves is one of three basic types of cloves known in Indonesia, along with Sikotok and Zanzibar. This variety has slightly different physical characteristics, especially when still on the tree, but as a dried clove, its characteristics are generally consistent with the quality of other premium cloves

  • Siputih cloves are characterized by large leaves, yellow or light green leaves, less dense branches, and large, dense flowers.

  • Sikotok cloves are characterized by small leaves, glossy green to dark green leaves, dense but low branches, and reddish-yellow flowers, numbering 20-50 per cluster.

  • Zanzibar cloves have long, slender leaves, dark green leaves, and abundant, redder flowers. This variety is considered the best clove.
